Fallout: New Vegas ESRB rating reveals sexual activity with a robot Fallout: New Vegas (via Game Radar) -
There are robot prostitutes in Fallout: New Vegas. If this news had been revealed any other way, it would only have been mildly amusing, but because it was revealed by the ESRB's description of the game's content, it's extremely amusing. We know it didn't go down this way, but all we can imagine is a thin-lipped, snarling woman with Betty White hair dictating to a typist in a drier-than-Death-Valley voice, "There is also an extended sequence suggesting sexual activity with a robot. Microsoft improving Xbox 360 voice chat quality - hear trash talking in greater clarity than ever before (via Game Radar) - There's nothing better for having your sexuality, ethnicity, football team and mother insulted than a quick game on Xbox Live. But it's not much fun if the insults are crackly and hard to hear, right? Don't panic - the sound quality of Xbox Live communications is going up when the new 360 dashboard update hits this autumn, which means you can be insulted by eight-year-olds in greater clarity than ever before. What are The Golden Joystick Awards and why should I care? (via Game Radar) -
Sure, there are plenty of gaming awards kicking around, but the Golden Joysticks are the ones to be voted by you, the guys and girls who actually buy and play the games. There are no committees of journos and games industry execs deciding who wins, just a giant online ballot box where gamers cast their votes and a piece of software spits out the final counts. Playboy teaming up with developer on GTA-esque game, we try not to stare (via Game Radar) -
Where would we be without Playboy? Without it, who would have awkwardly sponsored our first fap? And how the hell would we have ever seen Olivia Munn in the buff without constructing some elaborate peephole periscope in the bushes outside her house? Hugh Hefner’s company just keeps on giving, too, with the announcement that it’s teaming up with developer Bigpoint on an MMO called Poisonville. Discuss (0) | Login to recommend | 9 years ago
Sega comments on THAT Sonic & Knuckles video Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I (via Game Radar) - The internet was rocked yesterday by a fan video of Sonic & Knuckles, apparently running in a 2.5D game engine. It was, sadly, only a rendered video and not a playable game (yes, I found out after seeing the video too), but it certainly got a lot of attention, primarily because it's exactly the kind of Sonic game the series' fans have been clamouring for for over a decade. But what happens when these two clashing sides of the industry continue to pull at the same tug-of-war? Well, there were two headlines in the news this week that might seem unrelated, but they're the perfect comparative example to what's happening in the world of games. GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES theme now available on Rock Band Network Rock Band 2 (via Game Radar) -
I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!!1 is one of the best, and definitely most self-referential Xbox Live Indie games to date. The game is as unambiguous as the lyrics to a Linkin Park song, which should be immediately apparent from its title. It's a no-nonsense Smash TV-style shooter heavily wrapped in endearing self-parody, as especially expressed by its theme song, all nine minutes and forty-five seconds of which is now available on the 360's Rock Band Network for a dollar.
