Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep not coming to PSN (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) -
Late last year, we heard a pretty troubling rumor about Square Enix's first keybladed outing on the PSP, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep -- that the game wouldn't get a downloadable version on the PSN, thereby preventing any PSP Go owners from getting their hands on it. It's almost nine months later, and Square has finally commented on the rumor, confirming to IGN that "Square Enix, Inc. Discuss (0) | Login to recommend | 9 years ago
Telltale teases Penny Arcade, Strong Bad, TF2, Sam and Max mash-up (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) -
Well, this is certainly ... unexpected. Telltale Games recently uploaded a brief teaser trailer (posted below) for an unannounced title featuring a few cryptic messages, as well as the line-up seen above. Fans of adventure games (and, uh, team-based shooters) will recognize the silhouettes pictured therein as Tycho from Penny Arcade Adventures, Max from Sam and Max, the Heavy from Team Fortress 2 and Strong Bad from Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. Cryptic not yet sure about pricing plan for new Neverwinter title (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) -
You D&D buffs out there were undoubtedly excited to hear that a new Neverwinter game is coming to life, but just like the real D&D, it might end up laying a critical hit down on your wallet.
In an interview at Gamasutra, Cryptic CEO Jack Emmert admitted that the game doesn't have a business model nailed down yet, and that all options are still on the table, from a "free-to-play with microtransactions" model to a "pay-by-the-minute" one. Discuss (0) | Login to recommend | 9 years ago
Australian court halts PSJailbreak sales ... to anyone but Sony (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) - Now that we've determined that the PSJailbreak dongle is real ... the question of its authenticity has abruptly been made moot. The Australian Federal Court has temporarily enjoined retailers from selling or distributing the devices. The court also ordered that a number of PSJailbreaks are to be "released to for such analysis, including destructive analysis, as the Applicants think fit, upon the payment to the applicable respondent of its retail price for each such PSJailbreak Device. StarCraft 2 patch 1.1 balances Zerg, Protoss, Terran and southpaws (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) -
Just one month after releasing its blockbuster RTS, Blizzard has announced a major upcoming patch for StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty. The update will open up left-hander-friendly hotkey options for all regions, will add some new mod and map editor functionality, will incorporate support for NVIDIA 3D Vision, and will make a whole slew of balance changes so mind-shatteringly esoteric that we wouldn't know how to begin describing them. WRUP: Our zombie apocalypse arsenal (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) -
Earlier this week we shared some of our favorite weapons from Dead Rising 2. It got us thinking of more weapons that we'll use when the real zombie apocalypse occurs -- because, don't kid yourself, it's coming. We're still big fans of the Super Soaker Flamethrower (don't attempt at home!). Discuss (0) | Login to recommend | 9 years ago
Yakuza PSP crosses over into TV and manga (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) - Sega wants you to believe these three guys are tough. That's sort of a requirement for accepting them as protagonists of a new Yakuza TV series, based on the PSP's Black Panther: New Yakuza Chapter and bearing the same title. Japan's TBS and MBS stations will begin showing the live action adaptation, featuring an original story, every Tuesday night starting October 5. Discuss (0) | Login to recommend | 9 years ago
A guided tour of Bulletstorm's Gamescom demo (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) - Ready for a little cognitive dissonance? Check out this footage of the Gamescom build of Bulletstorm, featuring commentary by producer Tanya Jessen. The game is as violent, gory, and inexplicably disgusting as ever (you can even hear the infamous "Yum yum blister juice" line spoken in this clip), and Jessen's discussion is calm and conversational, even as she describes four-barreled shotguns and mutants covered with pus . Ubisoft lets 38 go from Red Storm (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) -
Kotaku reports that Ubisoft has handed walking papers to 38 individuals at Red Storm Entertainment, the studio mostly responsible for handling the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon games. The studio made a name for itself with the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series, starting in the late '90s. Discuss (0) | Login to recommend | 9 years ago
Final Fantasy XIV 'Answers' trailer asks some truly bizarre questions (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) -
Regardless of whether or not you're looking forward to Final Fantasy XIV, you really owe it to yourself to watch the new trailer posted after the jump. Not because it reveals the game's theme song ("Answers," as performed by pretty-voiced vocalist Susan Calloway), and not because it contains a few relatively rad cutscenes from the game, but because it features some of the most mind-blowingly insane writing to ever come out of the franchise. Dead Rising 2 High Stakes Edition is a gamble (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) - In honor of Dead Rising 2's Vegas-like Fortune City setting, Capcom is taking pre-orders on an exclusive gambling-themed limited edition of the game -- which means you now have your choice of DR2 special editions.
The "High Stakes Edition," available only from Capcom's online store, includes the game; a poker set with 100 poker chips, bloody playing cards, dice, and a dealer chip; a Fortune City visitor map (which doubles, conveniently, as a map of the game's locations); and a Terror is Reality ticket with a voucher for a "Psycho" costume and skill pack. Metroid: Other M review: a successful fusion (via Xbox 360 Fanboy) - When I started playing Metroid: Other M, I didn't know what to make of it. Basic movement felt nothing like the previous games. The story was front and center. Samus talked a lot. The cutscenes were unskippable and initially intolerable.
As I became acclimated, I began to realize that the game wasn't that much of a departure for the series at all. Discuss (0) | Login to recommend | 9 years ago
